After thirteen years of quiet, faithful work in Atta Mensah, Emperor Academy finally has a home on the web. Welcome.
For most of our history, the story of this school has been told in newsletters, in slideshows, and in conversations between friends who care about Ghana. It deserved somewhere permanent. So this site now holds the whole account: how the school began on 1 October 2013 with thirteen children in a former poultry barn with no roof, how donors helped the ministry buy land and secure the deed, and how the campus grew one building at a time into the walled school that stands today.
You will also find what we do every school day — Creche through Junior High, taught in English, with two warm meals for every child — and the part of the story we are proudest of: former students who have come back eight to ten years later simply to thank the staff for the start they were given.
A few places to begin:
- Our Story — the full history, from the barn to today
- Programs — what we teach, who leads the school, and photos from every era
- Donate — how to pray for us and how to help
Our thanks to everyone who has carried this work: to Serving Christ Ministries and its supporters in the United States, and to the leadership and staff in Ghana who show up for these children every day. You may never have been to Ghana, but through your support you have helped establish something meaningful here.
Updates will be posted here a few times a year. We are glad you found us.
