Emperor Academy walks with children from their very first years all the way through Junior High — taught in English, with French as a second language, and open to everyone.
Our youngest children are welcomed into a safe, loving environment with care, play, songs and the earliest building blocks of learning.
Our youngestChildren develop early literacy and numeracy in English, growing in confidence, curiosity and independence.

Graduating
For many of our children — around two out of three of whom are orphans — the meals they receive at Emperor Academy are the most reliable of their day. Every child is fed breakfast and lunch, so they can learn with full stomachs and clear minds.
Feeding the children was part of the plan from the very first day: the school was founded so that families who could not afford school fees would have somewhere safe to send their children while their mothers worked.
Clean water from our own hand pump, safety inside the walled campus, and caring adults round out an education that reaches the whole child. The buildings serve the wider community too — they have been used at times for Sunday worship services.

Emperor Academy is led by its Managing Directors, Dr. Anthony Akunzule and Mary-Claire Agamba, who guide the school's direction, staff and growth from Ghana — building on more than a decade of steady service to the children of Afienya.
Keeping a school running here takes constant, unglamorous work: supporting staff, providing curriculum, and meeting the regulations of Ghana's education system. The school's continued work has been made possible through that faithful leadership — and through the generosity of donors who have helped carry the vision forward.
